As a leader in manufacturing and recycling sustainable aluminum solutions, Novelis has a responsibility to seriously reduce the carbon footprint of the aluminum industry. Extensive use of recycled aluminum (currently 57% of input) is at the core of our innovative circular business model.
We leverage technology to enable the circularity and decarbonization of the aluminum industry and are dedicated to investing in innovative clean technologies. “Technologies Enabling Decarbonization and Circularity” webcast discusses how Novelis invests in clean tech companies as an aluminum sector partner of the World Economic Forum’s newly formed First Movers Coalition (FMC) I suggest that you indicate what you are doing.
To continue increasing the amount of recycled content in automotive alloys and reduce the subsequent carbon footprint, Novelis has partnered with Sortera Alloys, an innovative industrial scrap metal sorting and recycling company. By effectively separating mixed scrap into individual alloys, the partnership will help Novelis recycle and reuse more of both post-manufacturing and consumer scrap scrap. This separation allows Novelis to recycle the material into the same product, closing the loop.
Main Topics and Takeaways:
- An overview of how Novelis invests in innovative technologies to support its carbon reduction goals
- Discover how Novelis and Sortera are working to truly close the scrap loop for the automotive industry
- Find out how the automotive industry sorts and segregates alloys to increase their recycled content.
