Alternative investment manager Elementum Advisors, which specializes in secured natural catastrophe reinsurance investments, has announced that Douglas Duncan has joined the company’s senior team in its Chicago headquarters as Chief Technology Officer.

Duncan will be responsible for Elementum’s overall IT program and strategy, including technology infrastructure, information security, proprietary application development, and systems architecture and integration.

He joined from Columbia Insurance Group (CIG) and served as the organization’s Chief Information Officer, responsible for all technical activities.

Duncan has been a global technology leader for over 10 years and is a Six Sigma Black Belt and a PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has also held progressive positions at Swiss Reinsurance’s He Corporate Solutions Division, General Electric Insurance Solutions, and the US Federal Highway Administration.
