AXTAustralia’s supplier of high-tech scientific instruments, Exadoneis a Swiss-based manufacturer of micro metal additive manufacturing technology.

The Exaddon system is suitable for printing complex metal features in the 1 to 1000 µm (micrometer) range with sub-micrometer resolution.

Exaddon’s CERES micro-AM printing system utilizes localized electrodeposition to deposit metals such as gold, silver, platinum, copper and nickel. This system can print structures directly onto conductive substrates containing electrical circuits. Exaddon says the structures printed from the machine do not require post-processing, unlike other techniques used for microfabrication at similar size scales.

CERES technology is used in areas such as microelectronics and characterization of micromaterials. CERES is also used in the emerging field of neural interfaces, which uses 3D-printed needles or posts to connect computers to the human nervous system.

Exaddon is being used as an alternative to multi-step lithographic microfabrication, saying it can produce stronger and more durable materials without the need for post-processes such as etching.

Exaddon opened its doors in August 2019 when Swiss nanotechnology company Cytosurge announced that it would spin out its 3D printing business and continue operating under the Exaddon brand name.
