Global Financial Technology LLC held an internal workshop for Omantel employees on their flagship product, OM Pay/Lamma. Global Financial Technology LLC is a subsidiary of Omantel, one of the leading fintech companies driving local innovation in the country.

The Lamma app was approved by the Telecom Regulation Authority (TRA) in May 2020. Its wallet feature OM Pay was launched in March 2022. Available for Iphone and Android systems as Lamma Oman, it is the first licensed voice and video calling app in the country with leading wallet feature OM Pay for various payment solutions.

During the workshop, the OM Pay Lamma team explained the app’s functionality to Omantel staff. They were also topped up with an OM Pay wallet that can be used to experience using the app firsthand in the office cafeteria. Staff were impressed with the wallet’s quick and smart functionality and the app’s cutting edge technology.

The OM Pay Lamma app has e-wallets, in-chat transfers, QR and NFC payments, add cards, chat and call features. In the future, the app will be enhanced with features such as international money transfers, bill payments, and more.

The OM Pay Lamma app uses new technologies like artificial intelligence and analytics to facilitate payment solutions. People with multiple bank accounts can transact with money in any bank account from one app. Those without a bank account can take advantage of OM Pay’s network to enter the digital world. Merchants and business owners can use his OM Pay application for digital transactions, thus reducing their dependence on cash and increasing their customer base.
